Apple Gives Youtube the Heave-Ho

No Youtube

Earlier this year Apple gave Google Maps the boot, in favor of their own in-house maps app. 聽Now it’s the Youtube app that Apple has shown the door. 聽Apple points at the expiration of their Youtube licensing period as the reason, stating聽“our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store.” 聽As per Apple’s statement, iPhone users will still be able to view Youtube videos via the Safari browser. 聽As for having an actual Youtube app for iPhone users, Google has released a statement saying they聽“are working with Apple to ensure we have the best possible YouTube experience for iOS users”. 聽Apple’s move to no longer include Youtube natively, coupled with their separation from Google Maps shows Apple is making it a point to distance themselves from Google as much possible.
