Today Archos introduced their new tablet aimed at the entry-level tablet market. 聽The tablet is called the 97 Carbon, and though it has a cool name, the coolness stops there. 聽As previously stated, the 97 Carbon is an entry-level tablet, meaning its features aren’t going to blow you away. 聽The 97 Carbon packs a 1ghz processor, 1gb of RAM, 9.7″ IPS display, and ships running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. 聽Priced at $249.99, don’t expect to see many of these units move off the shelf, especially considering Google will be selling the Nexus 7 tablet for less (and it’s a quad-core tablet with an HD screen). 聽The 97 Carbon is the first release on Archos’ new Elements line which will also feature a 7″ and 8″ option. 聽Archos wasn’t specific in when the 7″ or 8″ model will be releasing, but they did state the 97 Carbon will be releasing some time this month.
