AT&T to Begin Offering Shared Data Plans Starting Next Month

Next month AT&T intends to begin offering a new option to benefit multi-device households. 聽Starting in August AT&T customers will have the choice of enrolling in shared data plans. 聽Much like Verizon’s shared data plans, AT&T’s Mobile Share plans will allow customers on the plan to share a pool of data, instead of requiring a separate data plan for each device. 聽The way it will work is, each device on the plan will have unlimited talk and text. 聽You will select from the available shared data packages, and then decide what devices you’d like to share the data with (up to 10 devices). 聽You will be charged for the data plan itself, and also for each individual smartphone. 聽For example, if you had two smartphones and wanted a 4gb data plan, both phones would have unlimited talk and text, and your bill would be $150/month.
