Google to Launch Online Store Selling Android Tablets
A Wall Street Journal report citing “people familiar with the matter”, states Google is planning to launch its own online store selling co-branded Android tablets. The report states manufacturers such as Asus and Samsung will produce Android tablets bearing the Google logo. This would not be Google’s first foray into selling its own product, as they attempted something similar in 2010 with the Nexus One launch, which was nothing resembling successful. Neither Google nor any of the reported co-branding partners have released an official statement regarding the report. On a side note, the report claims the next version of Android, Jellybean, will arrive in the middle of the year.
