Google has never been afraid to try something new, and the Nexus Q is no different. 聽Today, Google announced the Nexus Q media player. Like other media players, the Nexus Q can be connected to a television to play content onto the large screen. 聽Unlike other media players, the sphere-shaped Nexus Q has no internal storage, and thus all content must be streamed via wifi or ethernet. 聽That’s where the Nexus Q is very different. 聽The Nexus Q streams its content exclusively from Google Play and Youtube. 聽Whatever music you have stored in the Google Music cloud, is available for play on the Nexus Q. 聽Songs can be added and removed from the Q’s playlist straight from any wifi connected Android device, via the Google Music app. 聽Movies and shows work in much the same fashion, you simply browse the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone or tablet, select what you would like to watch, and stream it directly to the Nexus Q. 聽Those interested in the Nexus Q, can head over to the Google Play Store and pre-order Google’s media player for $299.
