I’m Rooting for Sprint, and You Should Be Too
Today Sprint has taken the first step in what is a very important move for not only them, but also for you, the consumer. Today marks the official launch of Sprint’s LTE network. While the launch only occurred in five cities, Sprint does have plans to continue the roll out and have it just about complete by the end of 2013. I’m hoping this LTE roll out goes much better than their WiMax roll out did. As you may be aware, Sprint’s WiMax roll out failed miserably for several different reasons. This time around, Sprint is going with LTE, and I am wishing them much success. Sprint is the last major carrier offering truly unlimited data plans. Combined with access to a high speed LTE network, unlimited data has the potential to be a powerful offering for the Now Network. My hope is, if Sprint can successfully roll out LTE and keep the unlimited data plans in place, it will force the other major carriers to offer more competitive data plans. Perhaps even, it could spur the other major carriers to once again offer unlimited data plans. While the idea may seem a bit far-fetched, if Sprint is successful enough, it is indeed possible. This is why I’m rooting for Sprint, and you should be too.
