Last year AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon entered into a joint mobile wallet venture called Isis. 聽Combined, the companies invested over $100 million in bringing NFC payments into the lives of the average consumer. 聽Isis has taken yet another step to making that a reality. 聽Today Isis has announced Capital one, Chase, and Barclaycard have all come on board and have agreed to have their credit, debit, and pre-paid cards included in the Isis mobile wallet. 聽Isis is definitely playing for keeps as they already have agreements in place with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. 聽Isis is due to launch in mid-2012 starting in Salt Lake City and Austin, followed by a national rollout. 聽Google Wallet’s days as the sole mobile wallet provider are numbered.
