There have long been several different apps to help you track down your lost or stolen smartphone or tablet. 聽Many of which do nothing more than just track your device. 聽Kaspersky has announced their new anti theft and web management features for their Kaspersky Tablet Security app. 聽Kaspersky Tablet Security now enables the user to:

  • Remotely lock your missing tablet to secure your personal information
  • Remotely wipe your sensitive information from your tablet
  • Remotely locate your lost or stolen tablet using GPS, GSM or Wi-Fi, and Google Maps
  • Enable the 鈥淢ugshot鈥 feature to remotely activate the front-facing camera on your missing tablet, and secretly send you pictures of whoever is using your device
  • Review logs of recent activities, such as commands activated and their status and results

Of course we’ve seen remote tracking before, but remote tracking along with with being able to snap a “mugshot” of the person who has your tablet could prove to be quite helpful. Imagine tracking your phone to a particular location and then giving the authorities not only and address, but also a picture of the person who has it. 聽Kaspersky Tablet Security is available right now in the Android Market.
