LG Announced World’s First HD 1080p Smartphone Display
LG has announced the next step in the progression of smartphone displays, full hd 1080p. LG introduced an eye popping 1920×1080 5″ smartphone display. The display is an AH-IPS (Advanced High Perfomance In-Plane Switching) panel with a retina display destroying 440ppi pixel density. With this display being full hd, it quite naturally brings with it, a 16:9 aspect ratio. Beginning June 4th, LG will exihibit it’s 1080p display at SID 2012 Display Week in Boston. LG plans to release their 5″ 1080p display the second half of this year. No word was mentioned regarding what smartphone this display will be found in.
