LG Announces Optimus Vu II…Doesn’t Provide Much Detail
Today LG announced the successor to the Optimus Vu, the Optimus Vu II. For those that may not remember, the Optimus Vu is LG’s strangely square 4:3 aspect ratio smartphone. LG did not provide very much information regarding the Optimus Vu II in the way of specs, but they did emphasize its remote control feature. LG touts the Optimus Vu II as being the world’s first smartphone with an infrared remote control port. Utilizing that infrared port, Optimus Vu II owners will have the ability to control other devices such as televisions and sound systems, by using their Q Remote app. Besides the remote control feature, LG provided no other information regarding specs. In other words, we don’t know the screen size, processor, amount of RAM, camera megapixels, or even the version of Android it will ship with. The timing of the Optimus Vu II’s announcement is rather odd as LG just announced the impending release of the original Optimus Vu in other world markets (it only released in Korea originally). Meanwhile, the Optimus Vu II has been announced to be released only in Korea.
