NFC Payments at the Gas Pump Coming in the Future

We’ve been saying it all along, Isis is playing for keeps. 聽For those that don’t know, Isis is the NFC payment mobile commerce joint venture between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. 聽Today Isis announced yet another strategic partnership that will undoubtedly add to what will eventually become a stranglehold on the NFC payment market. 聽Isis has now partnered with聽Wayne and Gilbarco Veeder-Root, market leaders in fuel dispensers. 聽In plain English, Isis’ partnership with Wayne and Gilbarco Veeder-Root will provide Isis customers with the ability to pay at the gas pump using NFC. 聽Initially,聽Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Wayne SmartTap-enabled dispensers will be installed in select locations in Isis’ launch markets of Salt Lake City and Austin. 聽From there, the SmartTap systems will be installed at gas stations across the country, allowing for NFC payments to be accepted at the pump.
