Current Sprint customers still using the iDen Nextel Network, may want to consider other alternatives, as it will not be around for much longer.  Sprint announced today it will be discontinuing its iDen Nextel service, beginning June 30th of next year.  The Now Network intends to transition iDen customers from the Nextel National Network to Sprint’s Direct Connect, their 3G CDMA powered push to talk service.  Starting June 1st, Sprint will begin sending out letters to government and business customers, notifying them of the impending change.
