Sybase 365 Partners with Telefonica Digital to Provide Mobile Wallet NFC Solutions

Sybase has announced it’s partnership with Telefonica Digital to bring forth a NFC mobile payment solution. 聽Sybase 365 will be helping to develop Telefonica Digital’s “mWallet”. 聽The mWallet will have the capability of storing prepaid cards, debit cards, credit cards, and loyalty cards. 聽It will also have the peer to peer payment capabilities. 聽Sybase 365 aims to leverage NFC technology in compatible handsets for initiating mobile payments directly from the handset itself (similar to Google Wallet). 聽Joaquin Mata, Head of financial services mentions the importance of the mobile wallet stating “The mobile wallet lies at the heart of our financial services strategy and it is crucial that we deliver a strong, simple and secure user experience to our customers”. 聽mWallet is due to be launch initially in Latin America and in Europe in the first half of this year.
