Today Sony announced the Xperia Sola Android Smartphone featuring Sony’s “Floating Touch” browser navigation. 聽The Xperia Sola features a 3.7″ “Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine, 1ghz dual-core processor, 8gb of internal storage, microSD slot (up to 32gb), 聽5mp camera, and NFC. 聽The Xperia Sola will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich coming this summer. 聽What makes the Xperia Sola stand out, is Sony’s Floating Touch browser navigation. 聽Floating Touch allows the user to hover their finger over the screen (when in the browser), and use it like a cursor. 聽Once the desired link is highlighted, the user simply taps the screen to select that particular link. 聽Floating Touch will eventually gain even more functions as Sony states it “will evolve with new user functionality and applications through software updates and engagement with developers.” 聽No exact release date or price is known for the Xperia Sola, but we do know it will be launching some time during 2nd quarter, with an Ice Cream Sandwich update coming this summer.
